Man Arrested After Pushing Woman Holding 3-Year-Old In Face, Police Say

A 43-year-old man was arrested after allegedly pushing a woman in the face while she as holding a 3-year-old child.

Devon Pallas, of the Town of Saugerties, was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 9, after Saugerties Police responded to South Road in Mount Marion for a report of a fight, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said.

An investigation by officers found that Pallas allegedly engaged in a physical dispute with a female victim. During the incident, he kept pushing the victim placing his hands against the victim’s face. 

Pallas then grabbed a wooden stool and held it above the victim’s head as if he was going to strike her with it. 

During the dispute, the victim was clutching her 3-year old daughter in her arms. 

Pallas was taken into custody by officers and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and attempted assault. 

He was released on his own recognizance after an order of protection was issued for the victim.
